A is for Arrival #A2ZChallenge

Hey baby girl, your arrival to this world has made the wait worth it!

When my mom was wheeled into the operation theatre on 2nd December 2019, little did I know how the big world would look like. I was literally pulled out from the Womb Inn’ – a safe haven for me. After my crying session and a quick meeting with my mom, a strange man whisked me away to the corner of a bright room. I was fascinated to see the huge lights. I wanted to catch them and kept stretching my arms as well as my feet towards them. Looking at my activities in the Operation Theatre, the paediatrician announced to my mom that I am going to be a gymnast. Now I was wondering what the hell is a gymnast!

Once my basic stats were noted down I was shifted to the recovery room with my mom. It was here that I started wondering where have I come from? There were a lot of people who came to greet and welcome me. Some came in with rectangular black boxes and flashed lights at me, some picked me up and held me in their arms.  All this scared me!

Agree, my room in the Inn was a little dark and small, but I felt safe. I was fed timely and also had access to radio with different channels. Yes, I was content, protected, looked after and showered with love and affection. I missed being in my haven. When mommy regained her consciousness, we were shifted to our room. I recognised her the minute she took me in her arms, cuddled and kissed me. That instant my fear vanished and I knew I would be safe.

By now I had met most of the members of my family, but I was wondering where was that sweet-voiced person who would talk to me every morning, afternoon and evening other than mom. I knew she is my big sister! Finally, in the evening the wait was over as she walked into the room with a big smile. The moment I looked at her, I fell in love with her!

Miss A and Baby A

Here is a secret that you must know. My sister aka Miss A or Didi, prayed very hard for me. At every temple, any festival she would always pray for a cute little ME! I am sure she is going to be my best friend, my confidant basically my person. When she took me in her lap, her big eyes told me that she will always be there for me right till the end no matter what.

After an extremely exhaustive first day, I did manage to sleep well with mommy. And yes, this is just the beginning of a funfilled adventure 🙂

Well, about me I can say that I am a certified dentist, healthcare analyst, medical writer and above all a mother of a 6-year-old. Most of my day to day activities revolve around her and she is my inspiration to start this blog. As a mother, I experimented with a lot of new things for my little one in a quest to find the best for her. I just want to share my experiences of being a happy and content mum.
